GREETINGS EVERYONE!

Good Grief! There is gloom and doom everywhere! High gasoline prices, food prices – people are stockpiling rice, tons of people of losing their homes – it is down right scary out ‘there’ and I dare say that most people are suffering from varying degrees of worry, stress/, fear, frustration, anxiety – or some other negative emotion. Even if it isn’t happening to us, we would be less than human if we didn’t feel compassion or concern for those we know who are in turmoil.

I am writing about this topic in this newsletter because of the body/mind connection with health …and because one of my good friends, Ana Rabatin, suggested it never hurts to examine or reinforce the power of positive thought in what we are attracting into our experience and what we might be sending out to others.

Last year, I took the time and effort to complete all the coursework to obtain my Spiritual Health Coaching license, so I am going to try and put it to good use in this issue.

I HOPE YOU FIND THIS MESSAGE UPLIFTING:

Most of us have deep religious or spiritual beliefs … or we have indoctrinated ourselves with other kinds of positive mental attitude materials. Yet, it can seem nearly impossible to hold onto any kind of affirmative belief about our abilities when our appointment book is empty, our checking account is dwindling and our credit cards are charged to the hilt.

For those of us who do have faith in a higher power or the power of prayer, it would seem that either we trust in our belief… or we don’t. That doesn’t mean that the most dedicated and determined of us still can’t have moments of extreme SELF doubt and sheer terror that he/she might never make another sale, generate another lead, or make another penny.

It is particularly difficult for those who are self employed and providing a service or product considered as a want and not a need -- with no guaranteed monthly income from any other source.

It is important to keep your mind focused on what you CAN do so you don’t become stuck or mired in a victim mentality or act out of desperation. This might be a good time to reassess your desire for the work you do/and build a list of new strategies to build your business so you break out of the circle of ‘sameness’. Don’t be afraid to ask others for help.

Stealing some thoughts of wisdom from Dr. Wayne Dyer in his book, “The Power of Intention” – “You may well choose to doubt what others say to you or what you experience with your senses, but banish doubt, when it comes to knowing that a universal force of intention designed you and got you here! Don’t doubt your creation from a field of energy that’s always available to you. We each can have a different name for that source of energy.

Dr. Dyer teaches in his book that it is important to continuously contemplate your SELF as being surrounded by the conditions you wish to produce. Act as if! Don’t waste time on what is going wrong (unless there are lessons to be learned and you need to make some changes) – rather contemplate what you want – what are your intentions for your SELF and your work. …..because maybe that is what is happening right now …maybe you need to make an adjustment in your intentions.

GOOD ENERGY VS BAD

Pay attention to your own energy field – low energy thoughts weaken us. The immune system demonstrates that.

Be watchful of your inner dialogue and the circumstances of what you want your life to be about. Practice ONLY thinking about what you DO want with unnerving intent and stay focused in the present moment.

Dr. Dyer teaches that it is important to extend thoughts of kindness everywhere because, “the universe responds in kind to what you elect to radiate outward. If you say with kindness in your voice and in your heart, “how may I serve you?’, the universe’s response will be , “how may I serve you as well?” It’s attractor energy.

Kathy Beselica – a good friend and a very wise woman, shares this. “People aren’t here to act for your benefit.” Ok – that is a surprisingly simple statement, but how many inflated egos don’t understand that concept.

Here is a good question to ask yourself whenever you meet anyone new, “How may I be kind to you?”

Here is another good quote from Mary Kay (cosmetics) – she was an amazing positive influence in her day, “ 90% of people don’t care about your problems and the other 10% think you deserve them!” YIKES! That should take some air out of some over inflated balloons.

If your business and/or your life seem to be falling apart, maybe it is time to redirect your energies from trying to get more into giving more – I am not talking about money. Giving gives back to you.

Dr.Dyer teaches, “Everything in this universe is a movement of energy. Higher/faster energy dissolves and converts into lower/slower energy…..every thought you have can be energetically calibrated, along with its impact on your body and environment. The higher your energy, the more capable you are of nullifying and converting lower energies, which weaken you, and impacting in a positive way everyone in your immediate and even distant surroundings.”

You are going to have trouble attracting outside of you what you cannot see inside. When you react to the lower energies you encounter with your own low energies, you’re actually setting up a situation that attracts more of that lower energy.

Please do invest some time in studying the energies of those you are interacting with. Don’t let the weakening energies employed by those around you to influence your own. Do you continue to need those people in your experience? Are you deliberately attracting ‘low energy’ people?

Ok – one tidbit about the energy of food from my nutritional background. I have written about this in a previous newsletter:

There are foods that calibrate low, and there are high energy foods as well. Foods with toxic chemicals sprayed on them will make you weak even if you have no idea that the toxins are present. Sugar and high acid foods have the same low energy impact – except where cancer is concerned – and in that case they will cause cancer to grow faster.

BE CAREFUL OF:

Its never easy to let go of old beliefs and mis placed values or other stuff like: the need to always be right. While we all need to feel good about ourselves – hold a good SELF esteem, you have to be careful when you view others as inferior for one reason or another. WE ALL DO IT! We can’t help ourselves. We must not kid ourselves into believing that others don’t pick up on that kind of energy. Some people are very highly tuned in.

Our egos love to divide us up into losers and winners. Dr. Dyer teaches, “You are NOT your winnings or your losings! ….there are no losers in a world where we all share the same energy source. All you can say on any given day is that you performed at a certain level in comparison to the levels of others on that day.

Be careful to not assess others on the basis of their appearance, achievements or possessions or you will constantly find yourself in a perpetual state of striving….never seeing how far you’ve already come. If all you can ever feel is that you still have so much to do, you will never feel a sense of contentment or be able to give your SELF credit for all you’ve accomplished.

BE careful how you view your own reputation. It is not located in you. It is located in the minds of others. If you speak to 30 people, you will have 30 reputations.

Are you certain of your impact on others? Dr. Dyer teaches, “If you desire peace good) for others, you’ll receive it. If you see beauty and worthiness in others, you will receive it. You can only give away what you have in your heart and the same will be returned to you.” How you view others is how you view your SELF! Could this be impacting your business?

• Do you view yourself as ordinary or extraordinary?

• Do you feel in harmony with your universe or constantly at odds?

• Do others feel energized from knowing you?

• Do people sense you care about them?

• Do you bring the frequencies of positive intention into the presence of others?

• Can others trust you? Do they?

• Do you perceive others from a perspective of appreciation or judgment?

• Is your energy focused on wellness or disease symptoms?

How do these factors impact your business? It may not seem like it, but every improvement you can make in your private world, improves the world for others.

Be Aware of Resistances

We all have them whether they are centered around issues of trust, inability to forgive or FEAR of not having enough. The whole premise of the Law of Attraction is that there IS enough and more than enough to go around. So by helping someone else become successful (or feel successful) we are helping more good stuff to come into our own experience.

However, there is such as thing as being open to receiving. Do you intend to be successful? Or is fear of failure driving you? There is no doubt that it is a challenge to live and breathe success. Of course you need to be clear of what your definition of success is. It isn’t the same for everyone.

Share your abundance – if you hoard because you are afraid of losing what you gain, you are stopping the flow of energy.

My daughter owns a successful public relations business. People contact her all the time who want to build their businesses. But when it comes to spending money to promote their business, most of them freeze up and become afraid, “I can’t afford to advertise” becomes their mantra.

You must be willing to spend money in order to make money and trust fully that it can come back to you ten-fold. Here comes the fear factor again.

GRATITUDE IS PART OF THE DEAL

Well, if we are always in a ‘want’ state of mind, then we probably aren’t showing appreciation for what we already have. If Desire is always driving us, then we can’t appreciate the house or car or clients we already have. This is tough, because there is nothing wrong in wanting to have more, but…..we are likely to attract more to ourselves if ….

BACK TO INTENTION

Read Wayne Dyer’s book ….because what you will learn is that accessing the power of intention will relieve so much of the seemingly impossible work of striving to fulfill your desires by sheer force of will.

I hope this newsletter has been helpful. One of the most interesting aspects of having written it is ….the teacher most often learns best from what he/she teaches….and I am no exception. Everything I wrote about today, was something I needed a boost in or further lesson in improving myself.

For those who are interested – you know Max, my son, and I have been working together on a book. Well, the title has gone through another change and I think this one will stick.:

The Healing Power of Herbs
By Candace Booth ND, PhD, CNC
Nutritionist/Herbalist

September 2007 Issue

When I began the coarse work to complete my degrees in alternative medicine, I was required to study herbs – their actions and the healing power they can exert on the body. I was amazed to learn there is something in nature for almost any malady that mankind might suffer. In addition, when you correct wrong living habits, add a nutritious whole foods diet along with cleansing and building herbs, you would be surprised how fast your body can heal from most chronic diseases.

Let me list a host of reasons why herbal remedies work both effectively and efficiently for chronic disease states and in many instances, over time, allow you to come off some, if not all, prescription drugs:

  • Herbs support living cells offering the body nourishment it does not always receive.
  • Plants are not static inorganic objects, but living, breathing evolving beings like we are.
  • The healing constituent can come from the leaf, fruit, bark, flower or root.
  • As medicine, herbs are body balancers that work with body functions so the body can heal and regulate itself.
  • The body will always try to work toward homeostasis (balance) as long as there are living cells and proper nutrients provided.
  • Herbal medicines can be broad based for overall support of a specific problem, not just going to the symptom, but rather the cause of a particular problem.
  • Herbs provide a variety of healing agents with almost no side effects
  • However, like food, they should be used in moderation both in formulation and moderation.
  • 2/3’s of the drugs on the American market today are based on medicinal plants, however, please understand that modern herb based drugs are NOT herbs by the time the pharmaceutical companies get through with them – they are chemicals! Even when a drug is derived from an herb, it is so refined, isolated and purified that only a chemical formula remains.
  • Herbs in their whole form ARE NOT DRUGS!
  • Herbal medicines work different. They are foundation nutrients. They work to normalize, balance and support so results can take longer, even so, improvements from herbal treatments can be felt in 3-6 days.
  • Herbal combinations (2 or more herbs blended together synergistically) are not addictive, but they are powerful nutritional agents. A combination remedy allows inclusion of herbs that can work at different stages of need.
  • All herbs have several actions – they don’t do just one thing.

Herbs are food. They have their own source of enzymes and work with the body’s natural enzyme activity. Herbs let your body do its own work.

It is important that you speak with a professional in the field of natural health before you begin a program of herbal remedies so you know which herbs are best for which issue, how much to take, how long to stay on them and how they will mix with any prescription drug. Just as with RX drugs, alternative treatments are highly individual. But all herbs work better when combined with a healthy whole foods diets. Subtle healing activity is more effective when it doesn’t have to labor through excess waste material, mucus or junk food accumulation.
